Ranch Tour - Bovineowner - 05-18-2017

Good Morning. I have offered to show anyone that may still be interested around our working cattle ranch. If any of ya'll would still like to spend half a day looking around at how my family has operated for over 100 years, I would be happy to give you the 5 cent tour![Wink] Please respond either here on this thread or shoot me a PM. I propose a June date on a Saturday that will allow us plenty of time to set things up. Our ranch is in Tooele County and you will need to drive an SUV or truck on the dirt roads to get there. I will supply lunch and soda pop.

As a reminder, this isn't a trip to argue with anyone over politics. Its simply a chance to see what I love to do, see a little mining and ranching history and try to bring folks who live in town out to see the challenges and opportunities that ranchers deal with. I hope anyone who would like to come will be able to. Have a fine day!

If it ends up being held on a Saturday that I don't already have a commitment I would gladly take you up on your gracious offer.

Re: [Bovineowner] Ranch Tour - Bovineowner - 05-30-2017

Due to lack of interest, the tour of our ranch is not going to happen. Kentofnsl I will PM you and we can go if you still want to? I had hoped this would be an opportunity for folks from the city to see a working ranch and try to promote dialog and good will between sportsmen/women and the livestock producers. Maybe another time.

At least you tried and I commend you for that. People are pretty busy and it's hard to squeeze something like that in, at times. Thanks for going out of your way to plan something like that. Out of curiosity, how far is your place from SLC?

You should have made it in August and taught them how to buck bales. Looks like you would have gotten as much interest!

Bovineowner, I was hoping that some of the more socialist minded posters here would have taken you up on your offer, just so they could see what it takes to not only feed them, but what it takes to be a responsible steward of the land through capitalizam at the same time.

Good respectful try.
