Your ties look very good. As others have said be careful with your hackle length. It's easy to "overdress". One thing that will help understand proportions is to buy (ask Gramps, we're easy) some 100 pack hackles. They are presized. I would suggest just one pack of size 18 or 20 Dun. Use them for Blue Wings. You will get a sense of hackle length.
If you want to become an awesome tier, practice tying a Muddler Minnow. If you can tie that very well, you can tie anything.
But like Clarkie said... it's about the fisheys.

Those look really good, especially for someone new to the craft. I think those scud are really going to do well for you. I would tie some grey ones too if I were you. Or scud brown is another favorite color. Keep it up, you're doing great.

I've done well with a pattern like this one here:

Unless the fish are particularly selective, I have done pretty well fishing a green Stimulator during a hatch. Also, watch out for grey drakes. They're a bit smaller and grey in color, but when they're coming off, the fish can really key in on them.
